Academic Policies for COVID-19-affected Students

All students who are affected by COVID-19 above must not enter the campus and attend any class for the legitimate period below. Class absences of these students will be acknowledged for attendance with proof documentation*.

Any student who has suspected symptoms can also excuse their class absences with proof documentation* under the approval of the institution or instructor that offers the course.
* Proof documentation includes medical certificates, documents that certifies on the date of entry, etc., which must be submitted to the instructor of that course.
Changes in Class Planning and Operations
Due to the shortening of semester (from 15 weeks to 14 weeks), classes will be held as follows:
· 15 hours per credit workload requirement must be completed within 14 weeks.
* In accordance with Article 74 of 「Seoul National University School Regulations」, 1 credit must carry 15 hours or more of classes. (30 hours or more of classes for courses classified as lab sessions, practices, and physical education.)
· The new syllabus that includes the schedule changes, such as extra make-up classes, can be found on the course registration website from March 2, 2020.
March 4 Update: For all classes, the first two weeks (March 16 – 29) will be replaced by non-face-to-face classes, such as livestream online lectures, video lectures through eTL, assignments and so on. Depending on COVID-19 situation, this non-face-to-face lecture period may be extended with further notice.
March 23 Update: Non-face-to-face class period has been extended for two more weeks, until April 12.
April 2 Update: Non-face-to-face class period has been extended indefinitely.
