1. Academic Schedule
A. Semester Dates: Monday, March 16 – Friday, June 19
[14 weeks; 15 lecture hours per credit]
B. In-class activities are suspended and non-face-to-face classes will be held until Sunday, March 29, 2020, and it may be extended depending on the COVID-19 situation. During this period, SNU strongly recommends all members to refrain from coming to school or conducting any other types of group activities.
C. Non-face-to-face classes can be held as follows:
a. Real-time online lecture;
b. Video-recorded lecture provided through eTL;
c. Assignment and debate; etc.
2. Non-face-to-face Class Operations
A. Class Dates: Monday, March 16 – Friday, June 19
B. Types of Non-face-to-face Classes
a. Real-time online lecture (through conference call/video call softwares, such as ZOOM)
b. Video-recorded lecture (through eTL)
c. Preexisting SNU online lecture (SNUON) and K-MOOC
d. Class with assignments and debates (through eTL)
* It is most advised to run online lectures and minimize the number of classes replaced by assignments/debates.
C. Exam: In accordance with Seoul National University Regulations, final exams should be carried out at the end of the semester. Midterms are at faculty members’ discretion.
* Online Lecture Instruction
Instructors can freely choose which non-face-to-face teaching method to use and apply it to any courses, including major and general education courses.

- Attendance
a. For real-time online lectures, attendance can be confirmed through the provided ZOOM URL on eTL classroom. Or, it can also be checked by the list of students who participated in the real-time lecture (screenshots, etc.)
b. For eTL lectures, class attendance is acknowledged through eTL.
c. For K-MOOC courses, if student submits proof documentation on the course completion, attendance can be confirmed. (The number of completed hours per each lecture must be checked.)
- Guideline
1. Spring 2020 courses are encouraged to be conducted as non-face-to-face basis through online lectures.
2. Real-time online lectures are conducted using a video conferencing system such as ZOOM during the class schedule.
3. Using PowerPoint’s slide show recording function for creating lectures is recommended.
4. To video-record a lecture, you can either get support from CTL or affiliated college, or you can use your own methods. The recorded videos must be uploaded to eTL and assigned as weekly requirement.
5. SNUON/K-MOOC courses can substitute part of the courses, and any plan must be notified to students through an updated syllabus.
A. Please inform your department administration office of the SNUON/K-MOOC course’s title so that it can be notified to students.
B. Each SNUON/K-MOOC course must fulfill 50 minutes of lecture time per 1 credit. In case it is less than 50 minutes, when it is followed by Q&A or debate sessions, it can be acknowledge as 50 minutes.
C. SNUON/K-MOOC courses designated by the instructors will be provided through eTL, so please specify the weekly schedule (which week and for how many weeks each course will be provided).
(ex) K-MOOC, Macroeconomics by 000, from 3rd to 5th lecture, during 1st ~ 3rd week of the class
6. For other universities’ K-MOOC courses, students must submit proof documentation on the course completion so that the attendance can be confirmed.
- Course completion and the number of valid lecture hours willl be acknowledged on the basis of the number of accumulated hours.
(ex) If the cumulative time of K-MOOC course is 300 minutes, it can be recognized as having completed 6 hours of class.
* Online lectures must be limited to less than 70% of total instructional time.

* Class with Assignments and Debates Instruction
Class may be replaced in the form of assigning assignments using eTL or conducting debates through questions and answers, which is followed by feedback of the instructor.
- Weekly assignment notice can be posted through eTL.
- Debate room, with its starting and ending time stated, can be open through eTL.
D. Policies for Students with Denied Entry
Students who cannot participate in face-to-face classes due to travel restrictions may be allowed to follow courses on a non-face-to-face basis.
- Attendances can be confirmed through non-face-to-face attendance policy above.
- Exams may be substituted with attendances and assignments (at the instructor’s discretion).
* Instructors must include 15 weeks of lecture hours within 14 weeks by offering extra lectures, and must take attendance 15 times.
