For those registered foreigners, including F-4 residence-registered foreigners, whose sojourn period is soon to be expired (between February 24 and April 29), Ministry of Education has extended the sojourn period until April 30, so that the number of visitors to governmental/public officials (including immigration offices) can be reduced.
As of Feb 21, 2020
Group application for sojourn period extension will be temporarily allowed for all universities. University officials can file applications on behalf of the international students.
As of Feb 6, 2020
1. For those international students who are denied entry before the current visa expires due to the current travel restrictions, visa re-application process will be simplified and its application fee will be exempted.
2. Policies on sojourn period extension application will be adjusted in response to the postponement of the semester or unexpected cancellation of language training courses.
3. Online language training (D-4) courses, which is in principle prohibited, will be allowed temporarily.
As of Jan 28, 2020
Immigration office call center (Dial 1345) will be run 24 hours (including weekends and holiday) in response to the spread of COVID-19. Especially, in case the caller is suspected with COVID-19 symptoms, the call center will help report it to KCDC (1339), with the help of interpreter services.
